Hey everyone,
I am so looking forward to this upcoming year! I can’t wait to get to know all the new comers to our family, and am anxious to strengthen the already existing relationships. I am especially excited about our new director Mr. Smith. He should bring a fresh new twist to things. I know there are a lot of changes ahead of us and that may seem a little intimidating, but don’t worry! All the things you know and love about the Newman Smith Orchestra will stay the same. The things that do change will only be for the better of all of us.
To all the freshmen: I want you to never be afraid to ask one of the upperclassmen a question when you are unsure of something. Most of the time we will know the answer, and if we don’t we can figure it out for you. We are all very friendly and won’t bite! I promise. It’s always better to ask than to assume. We all want you to feel at home in the orchestra; you are part of the family too.
I hope everyone works very hard this year to keep up our already existing high standards and goals. We are all here for a reason: to play the music that we love. Keep trying no matter what and never give up.
